The picture above is from iMomus, by the way.
Sometimes I look back at the 80’s and wonder why. Just…why? The 90’s, less so. Sure, we all made some mistakes. Snap bracelets, pogs, neon green. Flannel? OK, maybe flannel is awesome. Now is a time when I tend to think that the fashion has become a bit more natural, a little less questionable. But nu-rave? Has anything good ever come with the prefix “nu”? Nu-metal was pretty bad. This will probably be pretty embarrassing, too. What were we thinking? Who knows. What are we thinking now? Who knows. I guess our only hope is that this stuff doesn’t catch on. Thats probably what they said about Limp Bizket, though. Is that even how you spell it? Who cares.
If there is one thing I thank the 80’s for, it would be synthesizers. Thank you Dr. Moog. Now we have Timbaland, JTim, people like NeonNeon and others that have managed to take the sound palette of the 80’s and make it awesomer by removing most of the embarrassing parts and leaving you with music that sounds like you are dancing with robots in a laser factory. Unfortunately, not everyone is good enough to manage this trick. Though, this time perhaps we are savvy enough to tell the difference.
As a last note–I would really like to have one of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPdP1jBfxzo&feature=related
